Integrating English Reading And Writing

English writing has become an important means to intercultural communication in the time of globalization,and it has been applied to various fields.In the"new curriculum"of high school education,senior high school students are required to master a high level of writing.But English writing is a process of applying integrated abilities,and it is hard for students at senior middle schools to use it freely.Students' writing is often far from being satisfactory and inspiring.Many errors and mistakes make their writing a failure.In order to solve the existing problems,we should take all possible measures to promote their writing enthusiasm and improve their writing ability.In the traditional English reading teaching,the close dialectic relation between reading and writing is ignored.Especially,the effect of integrating writing with reading,which can be gained through training,is neglected.Thus traditional English education sometimes gets half the result with twice the effort.Based on the previous research on the theory of reading and writing,this thesis introduces some studies from the perspective of cognitive psychology,the principles of language developing,second language acquisition and the teaching of writing.On the basis of these,the relation between reading and writing and the good effect of'writing through reading' is studied.A writing teaching experiment was done at Da Xing'anling Senior High School and the results were analyzed.It is found that English reading has close connection with English writing,and the ability of wring can be improved by the judicious use of English reading.The conclusion of the thesis is that in the English writing teaching,it is effective to integrate English writing with reading,which helps improve senior middle school students' English writing ability.
