In the management of college teachers, performance appraisal is not only an important component, but also a difficult problem. The current teacher performance appraisal in our country has played an important role in the development of teachers,colleges, as well as the society. But at the same time, there are some drawbacks and problems that cannot be ignored. In response to these drawbacks and problems, the paper deeply explores the root of them, and puts forward the measurements to improve our country's teacher performance appraisal. This paper has four parts.The first chapter is the introduction. In this part, the paper introduces the research for performance appraisal from domestic and abroad. And then the article discusses the researching methods as well as the innovation points.The second chapter introduces the development course of our country's teacher performance appraisal, also the classification of it. Second, the paper makes clear some concepts in the paper. Next, it analyzes the contents, characteristic and functions of college teachers'performance appraisal.The third chapter first analysis the status of domestic college teachers'performance appraisal and sums up the achievements, the analysis is based on four universities which have different types but have certain degree of representativeness. Second, deeply analyzes the existing problems of current college teachers'performance appraisal in our country. Next, finds out the origins of the problems from four elements: Society, government, college, teachers.In the final chapter, the paper puts forward the improving measures for our country's college teacher performance appraisal: first redesigns a performance appraisal system, which including not only the implementation system but also the monitoring system. Next, the paper puts forward several relations that should be pay attention to.The study deeply explores the existing problems of current college teachers' performance appraisal in our country based on the theory of performance appraisal. And constructs a more scientific and perfect system, which will be useful for relevant colleges.
