As the concept of educational equinity and balanced development is widely attracting people's eyes today, more concern over the curriculum problems in rural kindergarten is the key to narrow the urban and rural gap in preschool education and promote balanced educational development. It is well known that a lot of research and achievements have been made on the urban kindergarten curriculum. Yet, few researches about its counterpart have been made. Among the existing research results, most of them merely cover a specific disciplinary field. Systematic research on the fields of curriculum objective and content, implementation, organization, evaluation has not been carried out. Therefore, extensive surveys and researches on the issues related to rural kindergarten curriculum were made in four administrative districts of Xiamen. To get a clear picture of present status, in this paper, we integrate investigation method of interviewing and questionnaire, discussion with teachers, on spot visiting and direct observation in class. On this base, and with all the factors of curriculum structure taken into account, we adopted means of data and literature to comprehensively analyze the existing problems and their causes. During the process to seek the best solution for rural kindergarten curriculum improvement, the theory of "educational action research method" was applied.
