For a long time, in the teaching of high school, because of the restriction of traditional class teaching system, teachers adopt "all are the same" teaching method, regardless to the differences among the excellent, the medium and the less excellent students. It's known to all that there are physiological and mental differences among different students, as well as their culture environment, family backgrounds and their ways of thinking. If the "all are the same" teaching method was kept, it'll do harm to students' development, restrain their creativities and the improvement of their practical abilities. In order to change this situation, we must bring force the reformation of foundational education, and education for all-around development. All the teachers must form a new teaching concept corresponding to the new curriculum and master the teaching strategy of it. The layering teaching is a valid teaching form. It requires teachers to pay attention to students' individual differences, enforce "differences-existed" teaching method, make sure that every student can achieve full development. It can be applied to all students as it can create favored condition for students' full development.This essay firstly gives an analysis of the necessity of layering teaching in the background of new curriculum, a brief summary and evaluation of the present study of layering teaching from home and abroad. And then it elaborates the theories of the layering teaching, introduces several layering teaching patterns. Combined the writer's own teaching experience, the essay also has a thorough discussion of the organization and application of layering teaching and the problems should be aware of in the layering teaching.
