Physical education (PE) hidden curriculum shows great significance increasingly in subject and personalized idea in the modern education. Some non-intellectual factors such as interest, emotion, will etc. have an effect on person's development and arouse people's great attention. These factors are different from those of intellectual ones and are also unlike the knowledge, techniques and skills taught in the PE teaching process. In the past, university PE teaching process, we laid stress on imparting PE knowledge and skills, and building up our health, but ignored the goal of PE culture and spirit. However the teaching practice of physical education hidden curriculum can supply this gap better. So people begin to consider modern PE teaching principles, contents, systematic constructions and some new thoughts and ideas on how to reflect modern teaching theories scientifically and effectively.In recent years, research on physical education hidden curriculum has become the hot spot in the international curriculum study. By hidden curriculum, we mean that in the school area it is the summation of the cultural elements by standard designs in the form of indirectness and implicitness according to the certain aims of education and specific educational objectives. The word'hidden curriculum'is exotic, in which'hidden'has the meaning of'potential, recessive and metaphoric'. That's why the exact hidden curriculum is used.PE hidden curriculum is made up of PE cultures beyond the dominant curriculum, presenting the indirectness and implicitness. Both hidden and dominant curriculums make up the PE curriculum as a whole to realize the school PE objectives together. PE hidden curriculum characterizes recessiveness, diversity, anaclisis, acceptability, agreeableness, permanence and quantification and so on.The elements forming PE hidden curriculum are very complicated such as the material culture including the site facility, and time and space etc.; the spiritual culture including the interpersonal relationships during the school PE activities, the formal and informal institutional PE culture, the instructor's personalities and their behaviors formed in the class teaching process.The long-term significance of PE hidden curriculum lies in carrying out the complete education and creating the fully developed students rich in personality. As for its practical significance, PE hidden curriculum is the important content of the curriculum reform in order to explore the new PE patterns in the future and to promote the all-round PE construction. It can also helps to further improve PE itself, to increase PE teaching effects and to make the students achieve their personal objectives. As a culture of standard designs according to the certain aims of education and specific educational objectives, PE hidden curriculum is of anticipation, and more and more PE educators begin to pay attention to its arrangement and its formation intentionally and elaborately.Basketball, which has developed over a century, is suitable for everyone, and more and more people like it. Basketball is characterized by diversity, integrity, polytropy, physical fitness, wit-sharpness, sociality, popularity and so on. The teaching process of the basketball curriculum in universities is of great importance for the students to learn basketball skills, to understand the basketball culture, to increase their interests to the sports and to develop their lifelong habits of playing basketball. University basketball teaching has its law of development and characteristics because of the objectives, significance, process and the particularity of educatees. PE educators and instructors has been putting emphasis on such factors as key basketball teaching contents, the process control, the assessment of learning effects, students'personality development, the influence on carrying it out widely etc.This paper, by using such methods as literature data, experiments, interviews, observations and mathematical statistics, tried to find the effects of PE hidden curriculum in the process of the basketball teaching and the students'learning on the physical fitness, techniques and tactics, personal and psychological development of university students so as to further improve the PE teaching process, to direct the PE teaching practice and to serve the objectives of the modern university PE teaching.The results of this study showed that the students who took the basketball specialized course in the experimental group and the control group heightened their technical levels on average and there was no difference between the technical level and the physical fitness in the same teaching process. There was striking difference in the students'level of the technical use and their psychological and behavioral tendency because of the different factors in the PE hidden curriculum such as places, sports apparatus etc. And there was significant difference in psychology and behavior between the male and female students affected by the same factors of the PE hidden curriculum.This paper concludes from the above results that the teaching of the basketball specialized course can raise the standard of the university students basketball techniques effectively. The factors of the PE hidden curriculum have slight influences on the students'learning effect and the mastery on the basketball techniques while they have obvious influences on the students'basketball techniques, tactics and psychological developments. The PE hidden curriculum acts on the university students'psychology and behavior in the compound state. Different psychological features and different behavioral results can be seen between the male students and female ones in the same teaching factors of the PE hidden curriculum.
