Buoyant force is not only the base of hydrostatics which has many applications, but also the key point of physics teaching in the middle school. The unit of hydrostatics takes the concept of buoyant force as its base, the Archimedes' theory as its kernel, and the condition of sink or emerge as its representation. This unit is a little too hard for the student, but it is also interesting. After the innovation of courses there's new point in the teaching of buoyant force. This paper makes great efforts to study the teaching of buoyant force in the middle school under the demand of the new courses.Under the instruction of constructivism, the knowledge of buoyant force is analyzed systemically as a special topic. The demand of new courses after the innovation and its representation is clarified by comparison of the new and the old in the middle school physics-teaching objectives. Further more, the kernel of the new courses about buoyant force is discovered and analyzed. The status in quo of teaching in buoyant force is found out by unit test, and the main reason is analyzed. Finally, some suggestions about the practicability of teaching strategy are made and testified on the base of research results, so that it could provide some valuable reference for the compilation of teaching courses in the middle school...
