In 2003, the Ministry of Education printed the Curriculum Program of Undergraduate Physical Education Specialty in National General Institutions of High Learning, and in 2004, it issued the Teaching Instruction Outline on the Track and Field Curriculum of Undergraduate Physical Education Specialty in General Institutions of High Learning, and the Instruction Outline listed out new teaching contents such as cross-country race, hiking, playful jump and pitch for entertainment at leisure, directed cross country, field life and survival, etc.Starting with the filed survey, this paper uses the methods of literature searching, investigation, comparative study, mathematical statistics, and analysis by synthesis to analyze and study the track and field curriculum of undergraduate physical education specialty in some general institutions of high learning of Shandong Province in the terms of the teaching outline, teaching content, teaching means, teaching assessment, basic conditions for teaching, teachers, and the studying situation of students, etc, and find that the teaching of track and field curriculum of undergraduate physical education specialty in general institutions of high learning of Shandong Province exists the problems of exceedingly slanting towards the competition and the systematicness of sports, and not having cast off the idea based on the subject, neglecting to cultivate the comprehensive qualities and the abilities of the students to live and survive, organize and manage something, and to adapt to the development of the society; the teachers and the students do not have enough knowledge on the multi-value of track and field body-building and use attributes; the teaching contents has gone out of date, and the subject designed are not sufficient from lack of practical skills; the indicator system of teaching assessment has not be completed yet, mainly decided by the terminal assessment, and the teacher puts emphasis on the mastery of skills and the score of track and field exercise when carrying out assessment for the student.Combining the current situation of track and field curriculum of undergraduate physical education specialty in general institutions of high learning of Shandong Province, here put forward the relevant countermeasures: to accentuate learning and propaganda, deeply understand the necessity and importance of the reforms in the track and field curriculum; change the teaching idea, set up the modern teaching idea; increasing the knowledge on the multi-value of track and field body-building and use attributes, expanding the recourses of track and field curriculum; change the teaching methods and means to promote autonomic learning and investigation learning of the students; reform an complete the assessment system, achieve in the combinations of procedural assessment and terminal assessment, and quantitative assessment and qualitative assessment; strengthen the building of teachers group, encourage the teacher to continue further education so as to enhance the reform process of track and field curriculum; speed up the refresh rate of teaching materials to reflect the new progress and new achievements in this course, and the new idea and the new methods of physical education at home and abroad; and strengthen the cooperation and exchanges among the sport colleges of Shandong general institutions of higher learning to help to put the Teaching Instruction Outline on the Track and Field Curriculum to effect smoothly.
