Especially along with the constant deepening of China's reform and opening-up to the outside world in recent years, the universities are no longer the isolated ivory towers, which are also faced with the conflicts from commodity consciousness, market competition, and values caused by the market economy. Correspondingly, the faculty culture has undergoned the dramatic impacts and changes, which wrestles between the academic and economic values, between the executive and academic powers, and between the reason and unreasonableness. Actually, it is the need of the epoch to remold the faculty culture under multi-cultural background, which also has a big impact on the constructions of professional ethics and organizing culture.Revolving around the core concept of the faculty culture, we have chosen the footholds and breakthrough points of the dissertation on a close study of the advances and deficiency existing on this topic by literature reviews and analysis at home and abroad. Starting from the three chief responsibilities (talent training, scientific research and social services) college teachers must face up, we have given a profound analysis of the constitutive elements and types of the faculty culture and their mutual influence by studying the specific examples in the actual existence of education, which is based on gathering the typical materials of the faculty culture under the current specific circumstance by comprehensively applying literature analysis and survey. From the role of the college teachers, we have also further discussed their influence on the faculty culture as creators, promoter and carriers.Based on the analysis of the faculty culture and its current situation in China, it has been pointed out the existing conflict and bewilderment , such as the collision between ideality and reality in college culture's development, college teacher's role identity quandary, uncorrelated reality and name of the faculty culture. The actual deep-rooted reasons resulting in these phenomena have been further analyzed and discussed, such as placing more emphasis on material success than morality, imparting book knowledge not as well as educating the person, placing more emphasis on teaching by advice than by example and placing more emphasis on political tricksters than scholarship. Based on these discussion, the author puts forward the specific strategy to revive the faculty culture in china, which revolves around the key principles: turning back to the devoir of college teachers, insisting on the teacher's morality and safeguarding the spirit and soul of teachers.
