Nowadays with the rapid advancement of science and technology, the competition on comprehensive national power is increasingly severe. A dominating factor is competition of talented persons. While higher education, the last scholastic stage, plays an important role in training talented persons, physical education plays an indispensable role in higher education. So it's extremely worthwhile for colleges to find ways to promote the healthy development of student's body and mind, to arouse their interests to take part in physical exercises and gradually shape the idea of physical training for life, which, for a long time, has been deficient in college physical education teaching. Club teaching system of physical education class meets those requirements. The system is to set up all sorts of teaching clubs to finish the task of physical education teaching and organize useful activities in spare time to enrich and perfect the class teaching. It follows the teaching rules but is not restricted to the class, teaching schedule or teaching content. Former studies and researches on club teaching system of PE class, mainly on its definition, superiorities, feasibility and problems, are far from systematic and consistent. By using the methods of document, questionnaire, expert interview, and mathematical statistics, this paper investigates and analyses the ongoing club teaching system patterns, and makes a thorough comparison by taking colleges and universities in Shandong as typical cases (Qingdao Agriculture University in particular), aiming to find problems and ways to put in practice, and hoping to be conducive to the club system teaching.
