| Task-Based Language Teaching is developed from the 1980s. It emphasizes learning by doing. It also emphasizes student-center. Task-Based Language Teaching can be regarded as one particular development within the broader "Communicative Approach". Task-Based Language Teaching focuses on meaning rather on form. Tasks may be carried out individually or (more often) in groups. Learners can learn the target language by completing authentic and meaningful communicative tasks. The activities are communicative interaction and negotiation of meaning. Learners can develop the abilities of doing things and solving problems. Meanwhile, learners can grasp the target language through learning by doing. So the Application of Task-Based Language Teaching in senior middle schools is necessary.This thesis discusses how to apply Task-Based Language Teaching to senior middle schools. Based on the principles of Task-Based Language Teaching, this thesis gives examples of classroom activities within the approach. Also, this thesis analyses domestic and oversea reference documents, the survey of the questionnaires and so on. The result shows that the application of Task-Based Language Teaching in senior middle school is feasible and productive.There are five chapters in this thesis. In the first chapter, the author introduces the background development, the main theoretical bases, and the definition of Task-based Language Teaching. In the second chapter, the author introduces the principles of the task design, material sources, task content, task difficulty and task evaluation of Task-based Language Teaching in senior middle schools. In the third chapter, the author analyzes the possibility of Task-Based Language Teaching in senior middle schools. In the fourth chapter, the author discuses the design principles of the application of Task-Based Language Teaching in senior middle schools. The fifth chapter describes the experimental procedure, assessment of students' performance and shows the main tasks in the experiment. Chapter four is about the collections of the datum and the results of the experiment. The author gives some suggestions in the last chapter. |
