A Research On The Campus Sports Culture Construction In Fuzhou University Town

This research paper, takes the campus sports culture in the five universities, Fujian Normal University, Fuzhou University, Fujian Medical University, Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Minjiang University, which have been lodged in Fuzhou University Town for quite a considerable time, as its research subject, and through literatures studies, conducting questionnaires, interviewing experts and statistical analysis, conducts a deep research and systematic analyses on the current situation, the existing problems and the elements obscuring or promoting the construction of university campus sports culture in Fuzhou University Town from the material, systematical and spiritual dimensions and the creating body of the campus sports culture.The findings of this research show that basically there are enough stadiums and other facilities to meet the demands of PE classes and the extra-curriculum sports trainings, but there is still something to improve about the situation. The publicity and the usage of the sports facilities are not high; the universities haven't done much on building up the sports environment (such as the sports sculptures and the sports billboards) on campus; the system of campus sports culture in Fuzhou University Town still needs to be improved; and the sports activities in most of the universities are still monotonous. There is no institutionalization and standardization in several aspects of campus sports; the spirit of the campus sports in Fuzhou University Town remains to be lifted; the university students' value on sports needs to be properly guided and shaped; a popular and comparatively stable fashion of sports hasn't taken shape in the universities; there is a rather big gap between what the students want to know about and what the teachers teach in the class in terms of the sports knowledge; the sports morality of the university students in Fuzhou University Town is general good but still some problems exist; the administers who are in charge of the campus sports have provided their leaderships to ensure the construction and development of the campus sports culture;the trainings on the school sports teams are not standardized, which need a more strengthened administration; the sports societies have developed a lot but the development still does not meet the requirements of the construction of the university campus sports culture, because the students' taking part in the sports societies is not only to build up the bodies but also to enrich their extra-curricula activities. Elements obscuring the construction of campus sports culture in Fuzhou University Town: the limitations on the recognition of campus sports; the lack of the faculty; the lack of the fund; the backwardness of the administration system on sports; the general low level of the students' physical fitness. Elements promoting the construction of campus sports culture in Fuzhou University Town: the basic requirements of the University Town; the core requirements of University Town idea; the requirements of the cultural development in the University Town; the requirement of the optimized allocation of the sports resources in the University Town.The campus sports culture construction in Fuzhou University Town is one of the embodiments of the core idea of the university town construction. It is the inevitable trend of the development of the university town construction and the expectation of the higher education. It is a breach to reform and innovate the construction and development of the campus sports culture, to conclude the construction of university sports culture in the strategic goals of the development of the university towns and universities, to provide an effective way to activate China's university sports resources, to promote the sharing of sports resources and the reformation of the management and education mechanism, to make a real contribution to the development of the university towns, the construction of the culture in the West Coast of the Taiwan Straits and the reform and development of university education in China.
