After the initiation of New Curriculum Reform,new demands and expectations on concepts and behaviors of primary and middle school teachers are put forward.However,in depressed areas of China even the whole country,the number of teachers who could achieve the new demands is not much at all.Therefore,as one of the effective ways of improving professional quality for teachers, teachers' training becomes focus of the society reasonably.But,based on limitations of economic conditions and lack of resources in depressed areas,the out coming of teachers' training surrounded by kinds of problems and difficulties is not as good as expected.This research starts from the current situation of teachers' training.Based on organization work of references,the author chooses Zuoquan County as a study case.Interviews and questionnaires are implemented to the headmasters,middle-school teachers,students and also parents from Zuoquan County.The author is trying to discover problems in hidden layer and provide suggestions based on analysis of reasons.The first part of this research shows current situation on teachers' training in the whole country,then it shows current situation on teachers' training in the depressed areas,in the following step,we take Zuoquan County as a case study and point out problems after data analysis. The second part of this research starts from conclusion of all the problems,such as the operability of laws and regulations concerning on teachers' training in the depressed areas is not strong enough; teachers' training cannot meet teachers' needs on training types,training contents,training methods and also evaluation system,the results of teachers' training is not satisfactory;training expenses are still one of the obstacles for teachers' training;cooperation and supports from middle-schools are far away enough;negative moods from teachers are very high and their willing to participant is very weak,etc.Secondly,making deep analysis from economic supports,political supports, middle-schools' cooperation,training quality and teachers' negative moods,trying to dig out real reasons.At last,we give suggestions from three levels:Firstly,from the outside environment level, the central government should continue policies which makes depressed areas as first priority,point out clearly responsibilities among each involving side to teachers' training,and improve monitoring work on that;then,our government should increase educational investments,especially those for depressed areas and teachers' training.Secondly,from the implementing level,middle-school administrative level should change their way of controlling,put more humane organizations and encourage teachers and schools to develop at the same pace;training centers should establish a whole set of training system which is catering teachers' training needs,improving the training results, and guarantying the training quality;At last but not least,teachers should be encouraged to awake and evoke subject consciousness as well as self-efficiency sense to feel more positive when they are involved in training programs with more and more understandings and supports from their family.This research chooses Zuoquan County as a sample for depressed areas in national level.It follows the thinking way that combines quality research and quantity research.Part of data-collection work is finished by questionnaire;while some other parts are done by individual interviews.
