In the process of making continued advances in reform of the new curriculum in senior high schools,the important factor for high school teachers to upgrade the quality of education and teaching is the adaptation of new curriculum culture.Since high school teachers in ethnic minority areas are affected by traditional culture of the nation,a dilemma of new curriculum reform and cultural adaptation exists in varying degrees.This topic selects the Shuizu autonomous county which is abundant with ethnic and folk culture in Guizhou Province as a case.This paper discusses the problem of curriculum cultural adaptation of senior middle school teachers in ethnic minority areas from the perspective of educational culturology,mainly based on the theory of cultural adaptation in cross-cultural psychology.Study,both theoretical and practical,was conducted from the perspective of culture on teacher's curriculum cultural adaptation.On the basis of the research relating to theories of curriculum culture and cultural adaptation,this paper carries on a six-month follow-up survey on the curriculum culture adaptation of senior high school teachers in Shuizu Autonomous County,Guizhou Province,analyzes the current situation and influencing factors,and then proposes corresponding solutions.At the beginning,300 questionnaires were distributed in two high schools in Shuizu Autonomous County.The statistics shows that: As a whole,the main methods adopted by senior high school teachers in the cultural adaptation are the separation and assimilation,which closely followed by the integration and marginalization.The integration method is the least as well as the maladjustment of the teachers.Secondly,through formal interviews.Formal interviews and daily interactions(informal interviews)with the teachers were conducted in two high schools in the Shuizu Autonomous County.Interviewees believe that the main factors affecting the curriculum cultural adaptation of high school teachers can be concluded from external and internal: external factors mainly analyzes in five aspects that are the traditional culture,mainstream culture,minority culture,school culture and curriculum culture;internal factors analyzes in the teachers' professional qualities and the teachers' individual characteristics.Finally,the promotion suggestions for the the curriculum culture adaptation of high school teachers in ethnic minority areas.The foundation of those suggestions principally are the national education administration,local governments,schools and teachers themselves and other aspects of ethnic minority areas.
