Nowadays, human being has been facing series of challenges such as cultural reformulation, technological accumulation, political transformation and economic stagnancy. At the same time, with China's accession to WTO and rapid social and economic development (the transformation from agricultural economy to industrial economy along with the transformation from industrial economy to knowledge economy), every Chinese has encountered twofold challenges of opportunities and development. However, the key to success is the qualities of those who crack down the challenges. It is the teachers of primary and middle schools that cultivate those people for, the future. Therefore, it is a must to focus the teacher's training program on how to improve the qualities of teachers.For this reason, we have attached much attention to the training of the teachers in primary and middle schools. At present, such training programs are still at the stage of degree training instead of qualities upgrading. However, the experimental reform on curriculum of new fundamental education has required the teachers of the primary and middle schools with very high qualities. Consequently, the reality of low qualities has made a sharp contrast with the ideal of high requirement. Thus, what is the way out?After consulting a large number of research material and based on field investigation, Author tries to clarify the background of present educational development and the tendency of world fundamental education curriculum, to interpret the new educational concept hi the reform of new fundamental education curriculum, and to analyze the problems in training the teachers of primary and middle schools. The aim of Author is to explore a new mechanism of training the teachers of primary and middle schools under the concept of reforming the fundamental education curriculum.The current thesis is divided into four parts.Part One expounds the need of reforming the fundamental education in China in view of the times background of education development, trend of world fundamental education reform and the existing problems in fundamental education hi our country.Part Two explains the necessity of teacher's training by analyzing challenges of curriculum reform in view of new concepts of curriculum and pedagogies, and teacher's professionism.Part Three clarifies the urgency of teacher's training by analyzing problems in teacher's training and challenges of new curriculum in view of the status quo of teachers in the primary and middle schools.Part Four concludes the necessity of innovations in the aim, content, methods and management so as to meet the requirement of new concept of curriculum reform. Author also steps further to propose strategies to realize those innovations in view of concept upgrading, degree education, research training and long-distance education.
