Textbooks,as important curriculum resources,gradually turn into an important sign of measuring the basic educational level of a country or an area,so the improvement of textbook construction seems particularly urgent.After the curriculum reform of basic education,teachers of middle and primary school in China,because of the diversification of textbook editions,are facing two unprecedented problems:one is the development and utilization of curriculum resource,and the other is the choice of textbooks and the organization of teaching contents.Because of the particular historical background,education development and textbook construction in Hong Kong are different from those in inland.During the key period of the curriculum reform of basic education,it is very valuable to analyze and compare the physics teaching situation of middle school in inland and in Hong Kong,and to absorb its advanced experience.The current education condition in a region is relevant to its history,and the compilation and content of a textbook vary with different criteria.In the present paper,we study the development history of physics education and the reform of textbooks and curriculum in inland and Hong Kong,especially for the "334",and then compare the physics curriculum criteria in inland and Hong Kong from the aspects of structures,curriculum aims and so on.Due to the above reasons,taking part of the content of mechanics as researching object in Senior high school curriculum standards for general experimental textbooks(2006) compiled by People Education Press and New life and physical(2006) published by Oxford University Press, the two textbooks are compared from the aspects of structure,exercises,experiment,physical history,layout,graph-text and so on.(1) From the knowledge structure:the textbook series compiled by People Education Press are divided into compulsory and elective series.This is conducive to meeting the needs of interests and hobbies of different students.But the integrity of knowledge is not good enough.It will be better if we can take consideration to the integrity of subject.The textbook series compiled by Oxford University Press are benefit to students because of the integrity of subjects,but knowledge points of this textbook series are less.(2) From the content point of view:Types of exercises of People Education Press edition are more flexibility than Oxford University Press edition.Material of the physics history is quite rich in the textbooks of People Education Press edition,which is conducive to learning.Oxford University Press edition textbooks are better than People Education Press edition textbooks in the respects of column setup,choosing experiment equipments from daily product and STS education.(3) From the overall design point of view of the textbooks:the two versions all used color printing on the 16K.Both of them are all illustrated with words and pictures and are high quality. The emphasis of the Oxford version are fostering the students' interests and emotions with concise words and vivid illustrations;while the People Education Press edition paid more attention to the learning process and the basis of knowledge with the meticulous word and illustrations.The four points must be done during the compiling and choosing teaching content by comparison of the two versions.â‘ Readability and interesting should be highlight for helping students stimulate learning motivation and developing self-learning ability.â‘¡Attention should be paid to the contribution of China to the physics world development to foster students' feelings of patriotism.â‘¢It should be highlight to the process of inquiry,students' explore ability and developing a good scientific approach which were based on real-life phenomenon and experimental facts.â‘£Let students focus on the application of knowledge and STS content consciously with the sense of being the masters for the ability of adapting society and the scientific values.
