For the high school students learning the Chinese new poetry, the paper studied the development of Chinese new poetry, which were captured in textbooks, from May Fourth Movement to this day. By studying the effects on the students, the paper investigated the development line of the student readers accepting the new poetry from the period of the Republic of China to New Age, and found out the inheritance relationship and the difference of five period new poetry which including the Republic of China, "Seventeen-year", "Cultural Revolution", "New Period", "New Century".The paper is made of the three chapters. They are foreword and text and appendix.The purpose and significance with research method were given out in the foreword, the theoretical basis and framework were shown too.The text was made up of five chapters.Chapter one introduced the Chinese new poetry in the textbook for high school student on the order of which it were compiled. Chapter one was divided into four parts which dealt with "the Republic of China" and "Seventeen-year" and "Cultural Revolution" and "New-Age and New Century". It was discussed that the propagation effect of Chinese new poetry under supervision rights by state authorities in chapter one.The following three chapters were the core of the paper. It divided the Chinese new poetry history into three phases including the propagation in high school before 1949 and the effects on students from 1949 to 1999 and new development after 2000. It utilized the reading and the reference for teaching in language teaching material, for example, "The Street in the Sky" and "Say Good-bye to Cambridge" and "To Oak" and "DAYANHE: My Baby-sitter", to show the influence from official ideology and the conditioning to students. It analyzed the relationship between literature and morality in different periods which included the ideas, for example, "literature for moral instruction" and "literature for communication" and "the unity of literature with Confucian morality" and "literature being morality".The contemporary meaning of students learning Chinese new poetry and the situation of Chinese new poetry spreading in high school were given in the third chapter.
