The Sense of Time control,the characteristics of psychology and behavior embodied by the individual when utilizing time,reflects one's ability and concepts about utilizing and planning time.University teachers have more flexible and independent right to utilize and plan time,and the discrepancy in their sense of time control can influent one's job performance.By targeting in the university teachers and focusing on two core concepts which are the sense of time control and job performance,the paper does three phases of research by means of literature analysis,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics.And the three phases of research are theoretical analysis and hypothesis,the development and preliminary investigation of the scale and,the formal testing and results analyzing.We have worked out the following conclusions though the positive analysis of 298 effective samples from 13 universities all over the nation.The sense of time control of the university teachers is made up of 5 dimensions including target setting,planning,priority setting,time allocating and,outcome feedback.In this research, the "Sense of Time Control Scale for University teachers",adapted from "Adolescence Time Management Disposition Scale"which is developed by Xiting Huang,is proved to have good reliability and validity.Some individual covariates will influence the university teachers' sense of time control meanwhile some not,such as the gender,major,the level of their schools.And also the age,professional titles have weak connection with it.According to the result of the exploratory factor analysis,the university teachers'job performance can be concluded into contextual performance,scientific research performance and teaching performance.The individual characteristics can have a better explanation towards job performance.Positive correlation is shown obviously between the job performance and each of the five dimensions of the sense of time control.According to the above-mentioned conclusions and in order to achieve the purpose of improving job performance,this paper points out the countermeasures and suggestions from different perspectives to strengthen the sense of time control of university teachers.
