This paper mainly studies how to improve the ability of students to explore by cultivating learning strategies. The thesis summaries the content, history, development and research status of inquiry learning and learning strategies, and the content, significance, use of intensive processing strategy. In order to understand the present situation of high school students' chemistry inquiry learning, the author has designed the questionnaire to investigate high-school students'understanding ,interest, and ability of inquiry learning,as well as the study strategy's grasp and application in inquiry learning. The result shows that cultivating learning strategies is a breakthrough to improve the ability of students' inquiry learning. The paper deeply analyzes the intensive processing strategy and its usage, proposes the method of using intensive processing strategy in some aspects of inquiry learning, and puts this theory into teaching practice. The results of the study show:(1)When carrying out inquiry learning, teachers should provide enough time, space, and scientific strategies for students to improve their exploring consciousness and exploring ability.(2)The external operation strategy of intensive processing strategy such as outline and note can be taught. The implicit thinking strategy such as analog, comparison, expansion and extension, self-question and advanced organizer can be taught, too. Students can master these strategies by chemistry learning.(3)Revealing the implicit thinking strategy to the form of "4W+1H", which describes "what's this strategy ","why shall we learn this strategy","how to use this strategy", and "when and where to use this strategy ", is the essential aspect in intensive processing strategy teaching. (4)Using intensive processing strategy in inquiry learning especially some weak points such as questioning, assumption, program making and conclusion can improve students' exploring ability.(5)The intensive processing strategy is complementary to the inquiry learning and the two can promote each other.
