It is one of the important contents and teaching missions to promote the motivation of high school students to learn mathematics. Now,the research on maths-learning motivation of high school students takes a lot of attention of the maths educators and maths teachers,as the quality education now is fully implemented. As a maths teacher, when he is teaching in the class,he should accurately know the new curriculum standards, and reform the usual mathod ,also explore new teaching strategies to promote the motivation of high school students to learn mathematics successfully. Under this background ,this text is spreaded out to develop new way to promote the motivationto learn maths.Efficient study is inseparable from good motivation. This thesis firstly described the background of the study and the methods of the research, and then ,made a comprehensive analysis on predecessors′research of promoting the motivation of high school students to learn mathematics.By doing that I found that the research on promoting motivation was always on general subjects, and the rasearch on learning maths was not studied in the practice teaching. At the same time, the theory can help to promote study motivation is accepted by most of the researchers. On this basis, the text discussed the effective way we promote the motivation of high school students to learn mathematics. At the second, the thesis gave a theoretical analysis about cognitive dissonance theory, learning motivation and maths-learning motivation ,and then, analyse the psychological characteristics of high school students, and the maths-learning characteristics to guide the following work, make more in-depth study. In the third, in order to make a deeper level of the motivation of high school students to learn mathematics to make the study, the paper adopted a questionnaire survey in high school students . By the survey, the following conclusion was found :at present, the motivation of high school students to learn mathematics is not very strong, some teachers had found the necessity to develop the motivation to learn maths, but didn't know how to develop in the practice. The reason mainly based on three points:one is due to that mathematics itself is very abstract,;the second is that teachers are lack of right teaching strategies;the third is teachers want to change the current situation, but lack of scientific guide of the right , practical theory. In addition, the students'habits in maths study, gender differences, meta-cognitive level and other factors also have much implication in the students'motivation oflearning mathematics. Finally, based on the former theoretical analysis and the practical investigation and research, focus from how to make use of cognitive dissonance theoryto guide to promote the maths-learning motivation of high school students, the reasearch focus on how to make high school students to stimulate motivation to learn maths in practical teaching work. In the paper for math-teaching work, the following principles were given: provide students contradictory information in their mind while they are learning maths; and through developing students'uncomplete cognitive system .At the same time, several requests that should be noted in the teaching practice were put forward, which will help to prevent teachers from blindly creating contradictional information in the practice of teaching. In the practice of maths teaching ,we should be in full compliance with the laws of cognitive, by improving teachers'own quality, teaching standards, and making good use of the current teaching and learning materials , leading students to cognitive conflict in math-learning, So that students recognize the imbalance, and promote the motivation of high school students to learn mathematics.
