At the Republic of Congo,track and field is common in elementary schools, middle schools,training schools and national teams.However,in fact, the government and the sport department put the attention on football, basketball or handball mostly,ignoring the track and field.This research aims at the way to improve the situation of track and field in Congo,and tries to analyze the physical education in Congo to find out its advantages and disadvantages,also will put forward suggestions accordingly.The government of Congo should undertake its responsibility to make track and field feasible by adopting effective measures.Based on the reference of some materials,the expert consultation,the theoretical analysis of track and field teaching in Congo' s middle schools and target investigation,according to the reality of the problem defined,a conclusion is made as follow:1.Track and field is always a popularized exercise in Congo and is one of important part of physical education course in middle school.From its characteristics contributing to the development and the various events or teaching materials,track and field is paid attention by students and sport ministry as important problem.2.Long raining season,lack of sport facilities and standard fields are regarded as the main environmental aspects of braking the development of track and field.3.Lack of track and field competitions among middle schools and few opportunities of domestic competitions in Congo for athletes restrict the improvement of track and field performance.4.The government doesn't pay more attention to the track and field issues and doesn't provide enough financial support.5.The selection of athletes in Congo is a big problem.It is difficult for the potential students in middle schools to become good athletes.6.The Congolese government,especially the sport ministry,is lack of good strategy for innovation and promotion of the development of sport.
