With the development of people's intentional physical training, P. E. teaching theory has come into being. However, as an independent discipline, P. E. teaching theory only has a short history. Since it has become an independent discipline, P. E. teaching theory takes the main responsbility on teachers' training of P. E. education in colleges and universities and severs as the bridge between the studying in nowadays and the P. E. teaching practice in future. Thus, how it develops from the theory of PE teaching to the P. E. teaching theory, what kind of features it has in different period? What problems it has after becoming a independent discipline ? How itwill develop in the future? These are the key points which the field of P. E. teaching pays much attention and the main questions which this theis will go deep to study in.Inspecting this, in this thesis , the author willuse the ways of literature, logical analysis , expert interviews ,etc.to expand the research on the basis of the understanding in the related definitions of P. E. teaching theroy with considering the curriculums and teaching materials of P. E. teaching theroy as the objects. At firt, this theis will study the region of the development of PE teaching theory in China, and the embryonic of PE teaching theory came into being after the establishment of learning system. Therefore, the first step, this theis mainly focuses on organizing the development of PE teaching theory after the establishment of learning system . At the same time , the author will summerize the law of development in the process of developing in P.E. teaching theory untill the emergence of the embryonic of P.E.teaching theory as a independent subject. On the basis of what it said above , the author will analyse the P. E. teaching theory from the certain angle in a high degree of subject. Finally the author will study the existing problems of P. E. teaching theory and predict its development in the future on the basis of the result of such an analysis.Researching result proves that the reason why development of P. E. teaching theroy went through such a tortuous process is the failure of mastering the good researching methods in P. E. teaching theroy .Thus , the study of P.E. teaching theroy is always in a "transplant" researching stage. It is necessary for researchers to know deeply on the methods of studying in P. E. teaching theroy , master the scientific methods and carry out research combining theory with practice under the guidence of good researching methods on the basis of reflection and standing in a high degree of subject. From the angle of dicipline , P. E. teaching theroy is becoming mature, the logic of the subject tends to more scientific and the contents of it will develop towards a integrated direction.
