From 1990s, professional tournament with representatives of professional football, basketball, table tennis has been shown in our country. The continued and orderly professional events has made great contribution to enhance the competitive level of sports, to meet the spiritual needs and to increase employment of sports industry as well as promote the development of leisure sports industry. But it also exposed some problems. In academic field, most of the international studies stand from the perspective of micro-economic and with a greater difference between the actual situations in China. And domestic researches always focus on a certain event that can not give an overall integrity of professional tournaments. In this paper, the whole concept of professional events were defined and summarized. We limit the study target to the sports industry which have been introduced in or have the potential to become professional tournament. Through analysis of the value chain, we creatively introduce the industry chain theory and formate a division of professional tournament industry as upstream industry including tournament owner or whole purveyor of the sport events, middle reaches including Destination Management Companies, and downstream industries including sports media and athlete training institutions.Comparing with more mature professional events such as the NBA matches from the United States, and England Premiership, there are a lot of problems in China's professional tournament. In the upper reaches of the industry, the owner of our professional tournament is trade association with Governmental background, resulting property rights'lack of clarity. In the middle reaches of the industry, destination management companies as contractors are missing. Instead, professional clubs are playing this role resulting in a non-professional work. The downstream industries of professional tournament in China are in confused management. Intermediaries'missing leads to a chaotic copyright market and athletes training industry suffered from lack of incentive mechanisms and a seriously limit transfer regulation. In addition, the assessment function is missing because of the coincidence of supervisor and organizer. From the view of the whole industry, the current industry value chain model leads to a poor delievery from the consumer to the element supply side. To solve these problems, some industrial chain solutions are putting forward in these articles which are divided into four areas. The first one is to clear property rights and goal of professional events. The second one is to introduce the middle reaches of DMC. The third one is to support the key link of the downstream industry. And the fourth one is to build a sound supervisory system.
