Currently,the course of curriculum reform in China is to advocate the use of "autonomy,cooperation and explore" learning styles.Geography teaching also emphasizes on exploring geographical issues,promoting problem-centered approach to learning.Geography problem-base learning creates a problem situation that closed to the real life for students,where students can access to knowledge,methods,and emotional growth through analyzing and solving problems.Compared to the traditional teaching methods,the problem-base learning style is open,it can promote the full and harmonious development of students better,let the students adapt to the requirements of the times more quickly.So carrying out the researching of theory and practice on geography problem-base learning is important to deepen geographical curriculum reform,optimize the geographical classroom teaching.This paper including five parts:The first part is an introduction.It identifies the meaning of studying geography problem-base learning under the backgrounds of society,education,curriculum reform development.Then it summaries the research status at home and abroad about the problem-based learning and geographical problem-based learning,sums the results of research,finds out the problems,to determine the direction of the research in this paper: the research on problem-based learning in geography teaching.The second part concludes the origin and meaning of problem-based learning, analyzing and summarizing its main features.Then it explores the support of basic theories,laying the theoretical foundation for the full paper.The third part builds the model of geographical problem-based learning.The paper puts out the basic targets of geographical problem-based learning from three dimensions the new curriculum;it describes the main process of the learning style with a case. Through analyzing the process,it receives the roles of teachers and students in problem-based learning.The forth part talks about that to put geography problem-based learning into effect is a complicated process.Firstly,teachers must find out the appropriate geographical contents as studied matters,they can choose the contents from three facets.Secondly,it brings out strategies on how to use problem-based learning in geography teaching from creating issue situation,group cooperation,learning styles,learning resource,evaluation and reflection.The fifth part uses a case to practice the learning style of problem-based learning in geography teaching.Then it talks about the success and inadequacies of using the learning style in geography teaching,to inspire the teaching reform.Geographical problem-based learning,as a new teaching style,it concerns the overall development of students,can promote the professional growth of geography teachers.However,geographical problem-based learning is still in the exploratory stage, it still has many problems to solve.The majority of geography teachers need to work together to spread this learning style.
