The American scholar P.W.Jackson initialy stated the hidden curriculum in 1996 and systematically developed and discussed by those curriculum scholars hereafter.Our schlars begun to research it from the mid-1980s,but they made the problem of the hidden curriculum come into the field of pedagogical research and thereby it was concerned in theoretical world.Although the research is not a long history,it turned up a strong trend.Especially in the normal education,the hidden curriculum already had Remarkable result.Based on the normal education's achievement we foucus on the special school's hidden curriculum.We tried to give a definition of hidden curriculum:the education resultswhich the mental retardation school intends to or not intend to transfer to students the curriculum's projects and school's plans through the education enviroment.It's usually a covert and off-the-record education experiences.This thesis mainly observed the physical and psychic enviroment.The author has made an investigation and research on the present status of hidden curriculum in the mental retardation school in Jiang'an district when methods of participant-observation and inteview are widely used.It has been found out that there is obvious achievement and also some problems such as the physical enviroment is not good enough,the weakness of teachers and the scientific recognition on hidden curriculun is inadequate.To summarize the analysis of the thesis,we could make a conclusion that it is a necessary demand to emphasize on hidden curriculum in mental retardation school,which fits for the development of school,and to foster the rehabilitation of student by the implementation of hidden curricumlum.Thus the thesis has also revealed the present status of hidden curricumlum in mental retardation school in Jiang'an district,pointed out the problems,and proposed a strategy on the development of hidden curricumlum in special schools.We hope it could provide a theoretic reference on the development of the reform of special schools and accelerate the research process of hidden curricumlum as soon as possible in order to explore a mode which could suits for the mental retardation schools.
