A new round education reform, especially the reform of mathematics education has been the general concern of society as a whole. To improve the mathematical learning ability is one of the main objectives and reading ability in mathematics is an essential integral part of a mathematical learning. Therefore, it is quite necessary to research on the students'mathematical reading ability.The research was based on the survey of more than 100 students in Wenzhou No.3 secondary school. Mathematics tests, interviews, questionnaires are used to get the students'current situation of mathematical reading ability The followings are the conclusions:1, The current situation of junior middle school students'mathematical reading ability is not satisfactory.2, The junior middle school students are weak in reading skills, especially language ability and problem-solving strategies and new knowledge. Reasoning power is relatively weak as well.3 The ability of the junior middle school students can be cultivated through the mathematics classroom as well as extra reading, and other means of evaluation. Based on the results of the survey together with my own teaching practice, I put forward some ideas in my essay.
