As the curriculum reform progressing deeply,people gradually realize that the national curriculum often can not achieve the prospective aim.Particularly in China, huge population,vast territory,unbalanced development and large differences among regions sharpen and exposed the weaknesses of national curriculum much more.As a strong supplement of national curriculum,school-based curriculum with many advantages have gradually been concerned and recognized.Today,school-based curriculum development has been an important aspect of curriculum reform.In addition to better implement the national curriculum,according to the school's own resources and characteristics,all kinds of middle schools strive to explore school-based curriculum with local characteristics and school characteristics.Geography,which assumed the important task to training the qualified citizens, should also seize this opportunity.Although school-based curriculum development emphasizes on breaking the boundaries of disciplines to achieve the integration of disciplines,we clearly know that the sense of discipline in Chinese education is deep-rooted,and teachers also have more profound discipline background.Therefore, under this actuality and tradition condition,geography teachers must to practice school-based curriculum development based on geographical subjects.In this paper,establish in geography's special characteristics,such as comprehensive,dynamic,open and practical,and guided by the theory of "Practical Model","Process Model",multiple intelligences,postmodernism in educational theory,a school-based curriculum based on geographical subjects was developed through fully exploit the resources both inside and outside school to fulfill the fundamental purpose in social development needs of the diverse talents and the full development of students.Development of school-based curriculum is approximately divided into five basic steps:environmental analysis,goal setting course,course organization,curriculum implementation,curriculum evaluation.However,in order to enable the practice of curriculum in geographical-based curriculum development is more prominent,the main parts,including the selection of school-based curriculum, the preparation of syllabuses,curriculum organization and implementation of models, evaluation of courses were detailed described.And a large number of cases were also used to carry out and valid the actual presentation in curriculum development.The system of this paper was built and discussed through two dimensionalities: First,the basic concepts and theories of geography school-based curriculum development was induced and summarized in the theoretical level;Second,based on a large number of cases,the strategies and methods of the geography school-based curriculum development were discussed in the practical level.
