Along with changes in social management system ,street community gradually developed; relatively, community education rose from the mid-eighties of the last century in our country. The late nineties, with the establishment of a number of experimental bases, community education expanded from coastal cities to inland cities and then countryside, and started across the country now. Community education in China has achieved initial success after more than 20 years experienced a rapid development, However, the development is still uneven. Especially in coastal cities. The development of their community education is faced with a number of bottlenecks in urgent need of solution. This paper tries to analysis the development of urban communities education of the path to Xujiahui Street as an example, Specifically, from the analysis of the development of urban community education approach; then empirical research on Xujiahui street with the way of interviews, site visits and so on, analysis achievements and issues of Xujiahui in the process of community education; and then rises from point to the surface of urban community education; at last suggestions will be put forward on the basis of the countermeasures.On the first chapter ,the paper describes and explains the background to the study, related research, research significance, research ideas and methods. The second chapter, it discusses necessity and the possibility of this research from theoretical view, such as our urban community formation and development, the characteristics of urban communities, urban community development functions, as well as an overview of the development of education in urban communities in our country and abroad. Chapter III chooses Xujiahui street to empirical research from point to face, analyses it's background and procession, investigates its status through questionnaires and interviews ,then and conducts a comprehensive analysis to findings. Chapter IV overviews problems existing of the development of community education of urban in the understanding, management, security mechanism, participation in groups, ways to implement and so on. To Chapter V raises measures and proposals on the basis of a community education, such as promoting awareness to lead the way forward, sounding system to the advocacy and management of community education, timely concluding to the protection mechanism, innovation-rich to rich presentation and expression of community education, in-depth research to provide quality education services for more residents and so on.
