A new idea has been put forward in the new curriculum reform, that we should change the traditional and simple tendency to focus on imparting knowledge. An active attitude to learning is advocated. The emphasis of the students' education is how to learn , how to survive, how to establish the correct values and acquire knowledge and skills. In the course of implementation, it is necessary to abandon the passive acceptance of learning and to avoid the rote and mechanical training. A positive attitude with active participation, willing exploration, and hard work is advocated. Also we should enhance the training on students' ability to collect and process information, to acquire new knowledge, to analyze and solve problems and to exchange and cooperate with others.In order to achieve the new requirements of the curriculum reform, the Hunan Version Textbooks integrate a large number of "moving activities", in accordance with New Curriculum requirements, to enable students to participate in activities. Thus students can learn, experience, discover and explore new knowledge through activities. The Hunan Version Textbooks abandon the previous modus operandi of giving ready-made answers directily. The textbooks introduce a great many activities of practice, exploration and thinking, which have outstanding functions and values in changing the way students learn and cultivating their abilities.The author conducted a study in this thesis, in order to better help the majority of geography teachers implement the "activity approach", and bring about the change in students' way of learning. Based on the literature research method, case method, practice and reflection method, interview and questionnaire research method, and in combination with the new round curriculum reform, and the current situation of classroom teaching, the author combined theory with practice, and integrated the teaching research and common teaching, thus realizing the thoughts of research serving teaching, and teaching promoting research. In this paper, research is done into the existing problems, their causes and Countermeasures dring the implementation of the High School Geography "activity approach", under the guidance of the "Basic Education Curriculum Reform" and "Geography Curriculum Standards ".The first chapter of this thesis introduces the background of the topic and the present situation of domestic research. It defines the connotation of the geography "Activity Approach", propose the research aim and methods of the thesis, and establish the theoretical basis for this study. The second chapter focuses on the existing problems of the implementation of the "Activity Approach".Chapterâ…¢analyses the causes of the existing problems.Chapterâ…£puts forward the Countermeasures to the problems and their causes.Chapterâ…¤is the conclusion of this thesis.
