Survey And Research On Information Literacy Of The Undergraduate In Universities

Nowadays,the world is featured by networking and information,every country has realized the significance of Information Literacy(IL).The person with IL knows its information needs, effectively and critically acquire information,evaluate information,accurately and creatively use information based on fasts.In order to improve the information resource's exploration and utilization,a lot of information personnel's are urgently needed.For this matter improving the information quality among the people of the nation and stressing the quality education in the universities have become the most important objects for us to attain.This paper will mainly focus on the undergraduate students' education of IL in Xinjiang A University and discuss the cultivation of IL in the specific group and some related problems.Firstly,the author designed the questionnaire and conducted a survey among 613 college graduates.On the basis of questionnaire in investigation and personal interview,the paper analyses IL status of the undergraduate in the network environment.Secondly,based on a large scale analysis of the result of an investigation on current real situation of undergraduate students' IL in Xinjiang A university,the author concludes the major problems of current situation of IL education of undergraduates students in Xinjiang as follows: undergraduates' obviously has a poor consciousness of information which leads to a series of problems such as insufficient acquisition of information,a lack of information awareness and information morality.Therefore,the key to the cultivation of the IL in the undergraduate students in Xinjiang is to strengthen students' information awareness and given emphasis on students' IL education,according to the result of the investigation and the criterion for the assessment of students IL. Then the paper also concludes measures to cultivate undergraduates' IL.The author discusses IL training strategies from the viewpoint of strengthening the construction of information infrastructure,improving teaching method,exerting the role of literacy,strengthening internet moral education,enhancing teachers' IL,hoping these strategies can effectively improve undergraduates' IL.The epilog of this paper points out the lack of research and future directions.
