A Study On Parent-Young Child Communication Patterns

Parent-child communication,as the exchange of information,opinions,feelings and attitudes,is to achieve a common understanding,trust and mutual co-operation process.Parent-child communication is an important way of achieving family education.Several foreign researchers, defined the way of parent-child communicatin as different patterns from different points. Through the questionnaires and interviews,this article find several problems as follows:â… .The family child care can be divided into four patterns:the Pluralistic pattern,the Protective pattern,the Lassez-faire pattern,and the Consensual pattern.Through the survey,we found that during the four patterns,the Pluralistic pattern accounted for a large percentage of,followed by the Laissez-faire pattern,and less for was the the Consensual pattern and the Laissez-faire pattern. What this acticle findings is different from the findings of Fang Xiaoyi,etc,In 2004.â…¡.There is significant different among parents of different ages on the Protective pattern.Older than 41-year-old parents most adopt the Protective pattern,when they communicate with their children.â…¢.There is significant different among parents of different qualifications on the Pluralistic pattern,the Protective pattern,the Lassez-faire pattern,and theConsensual pattern.The middle school-educated parents tend to adopt the Lassez-faire pattern and the Protective pattern.Postgradute or undergraduate-educated parents educated parents tend to adopt the Pluralistic pattern.â…£.The Consensual pattern was related to the ages of children.Compared with the children in larger classes,the parents whose children were in the smaller classes,were less adoption of the Consensual pattern.â…¤.The pattern of relationship was related to the communication patterns:Compared with mother-child relationship,father-child relationship tend to adopt the Laissez-faire pattern,expecially between the father-daughter relationship.Compared with the parents-son relationship, parents-daughter relationship tend to the Pluralistic pattern.Compared with father-child,mother-child relationship was tend to the Consensual pattern.
