Power Research In The Field Of Higher Education

With the help of relative theory of philosophy,politics,economics and higher education, this dissertation tries to define the characters of political power,economical power and academic power. Based on these concepts, this article will clarify the complex relationship between these powers and discuss how to put them in a harmony situation.The dissertation is composed of introduction,text and epilogue. The text discourse in sequence of theory foundation,historic analysis,reality discussion and theoretical research.The introduction mainly talks about foundation and meaning of topic selection. It also introduces current research situation about this area.The text is composed of four chapters.Chapter 1 talks about the concept and characters of power. The article argues that the "capital" should include economic capital,market capital and cultural capital. Different capitals implicate different powers. Then, the constitution of higher education power is been discussed.Chapter 2 reviews the historic development of power relation between academy,politics and market. The article believe that the relationship between economic power,market power and cultural power will get more close since knowledge has became the valid foundation of economical development and political authority.Chapter 3 observe the relationship between economic power,market power and cultural power from a reality angle.Chapter 4 mainly talks about how to how should we lead the three powers to a harmony situation. It argues that we could not stop the political and market from invading the higher education territory. Yet, if these powers keep in a rational situation , our higher education will develop healthy.The epilogue indicates that political power always plays an important role in higher education development. During the massification of higher education, market power has also became a more important factor for our higher education. The contradiction between the political authority,market influence and knowledge product will became seriously. We must clarify the territory of higher education autonomy and academic freedom so as to make the higher education suit the social requirement on the premise that higher education follows it's own discipline.
