| The mastery of excellent oral communication is one of the critical requirements in employment, and an even more vital factor for students to achieve all-round development, strengthen their viabilities, and finally obtain their self-actualization. Based on the earlier researchers' work and the related theories, the author of this thesis concentrates on the teaching of oral communication for engineering students in secondary vocational schools. Having made actual investigations about the present conditions of this special field, the author analized the particular characteristics of engineering students and the teaching for them. Furthermore, with a definite and clear purpose of oral communication teaching for engineering students, the author are enquiring into oral communication teaching strategies with its own characteristics intended for engineering students. The developing tendency of vocational education embodies that vocational education is to combine vocational training with humanism education, aiming to develop both vocational skills and efficient learing habits. The author has made painstaking efforts to explore a world of resources of humanism education, seeking ways to have the students improved both in oral communicative skills and in morality and humanity as well, thus paving the way for their all-round development and self-actualization. |
