Objective:To investigate the effects of stress response to match on the changes of immune function of ice hockey athletes.Methods:16 ice hockey athletes from Qiqihar Ice Hockey Team were observed during the two of 2005 Asia League Ice Hockey Matches——Qiqihar Team to Tokyo Team and Qiqihar Team to Harbin Team. Before the two matches,a form of CSAI-2 was filled by every subject. Further more, basal hypertension and pulse were measured.Serum Cortisol,IL-2, sIL-2R and IL-6 were measured three times during the matches. The first and the second were before and after the former match, the third was before the latter match. Results:(1) The survey of CSAI-2 indicates when the ice hockey athletes matched two different opponents, the level of state anxiety was changing differently. The level of anxiety in cognition and body before the latter match was lightly higher than the former but not significant. The level of state self-confidence at the latter was significantly higher than the former.(P<0.05 )(2) Before the latter match, basal pulse and hypertension were higher than it before the former match. The change of Serum Cortisol was not significant.(3) Whatever before or after the match, the average of IL-2 did not decrease. Before the latter match sIL-2R was lightly higher than the former but not significant.(4) As for IL-6,there was an individual difference among the subjects. It decreased in some subjects and increased in others compared with the normal level.(5) According to statistics analyze,it is not very significant of the relations between IL-2,sIL-2R,IL-6 and the level of psychological stress.Conclusion:(1) Ice hockey athletes could show the different of state self-confidence before matches because of different opponents.(2) The variation of serum level of IL-2 and sIL-2R of ice hockey athletes is not significant during the match.(3) The serum level of IL-6 is different according to the individual difference. It points out that IL-6 can be a sensitive index which reflects the level of immune in individual difference. Therefore the study of individual vertical comparison should be done in the application of IL-6.
