Super's Career Development Theory And Its Enlightenment To College Students Vocational Guidance

With the development of social economy, the penetration of institutional reform of higher education and the changes of labor market's structure, the issue of college student's employment becomes a hot and difficult social spot gradually, and it brings a series of challenges to the vocational guidance and college students' occupational choices. It's not enough for the vocational guidance only to help college students to find jobs, which unable to meet the needs of society and college students.Submission and perfection of the Donald. E. Super(1910-1994) 's career development theory promoted the changesfrom the pattern of person-occupations match to the pattern ofcareer counseling, given the traditionally vocational guidancedeeper meaning, richer contents and more functions--helpingpeople to enter job world smoothly, realizing self-development and meeting the needs of the society. Then, what propositions, values ideas and reasonable strategy are contained in this rich theory which has an important impact on the internationality? What can we enlighten and use for reference from it for college students vocational guidance? This thesis will explain comprehensively and comment systematically.This thesis has introduced Super's career development theory, focused on the basic proposition, stage theory of career development, self-concept, career maturity theory and the career-development assessment and counseling model in brief.The thesis believed that in view of the fact that there is much correspondence in nature between Super's career development theory taking development as the core and education, therefore this is meaningful for drawing lessons from Super's career development theory about college students vocational guidance.Under the inspiration of Super's career development theory, the thesis has re-explained the purpose, the mission, the principle, the approach of college students vocational guidance in China and made efforts to lay stress on the educational significance of college students vocational guidance——promoting full-scale development of man.
