Research About Senior Students' Chemistry Achievement On Which Assignment Checking Has Influence

This thesis is based on the new theory of "arousing students' interest in learning Chemistry,strengthening the idea of science research,and promoting the transformation of learning style",which comes from" the New Course Standard of Senior Chemistry".During my Senior Chemistry teaching practice I discover the way of assignment correcting has strong influence on students' chemistry result.So,I did some research on it.Assignment correcting is one of the fundamental teaching procedures following preparing and giving lessons.It is also the extension of classroom teaching and one important part of teaching process.Besides,assignment correcting can greatly improve teachers' Chemistry teaching.In other words,it is a process during which students can adjust themselves,think twice and make more improvement.By correcting students' assignment,a teacher can check how much students have known in class and also get the feedback of his/her teaching in time.Then the teachers think over his/her former teaching contents and teaching methods and then change some of them if necessary.Thus, assignment correcting,which is as important as classroom teaching, should be an interactivity between the teachers and the students.During this research,I used many questionnaire forms,for the students to answer.By doing that I know about the students' attitude torwards correcting assignment,I also realize that this method really works.The research shows clearly that the new pattern of correcting assignment is much more popular with the students than the traditional one.What's more,I gave experiments between the experiment group and the control group first,and then compare the different two groups.I also adopt SPSS statistics software to do data statistics,indicating that there is a clear difference between the experiment group and the control group:the students in the experiment group make great progress in both solving Chemistry problems and learning Chemistry.Also,the total marks of the experiment group are much higher than those of the control group. It proves that from the research,the modern pattern of correcting assignment is effective.Therefore,I gain some knowledge as follows:First,our students have doubt about the teacher's traditional ways of correcting all homework.Second,I give tests on senior two students,combining the bad effect that traditional assignment correcting brings with the senior students' physical and psychological characteristics as well as the features of Chemistry.This makes my theory more accurate and can assist students of poor learning ability.Third,I make use of both questionnaires and individual cases,which makes my findings complete and concrete.In a word,this research will contribute to teachers' Chemistry teaching and students' achievement improvement.
