At information age,online games are affecting teenagers' study and physical and mental development profoundly.There're controversial debates on its influence on teenagers,which the educators have paid attentions to.Educational researchers have proposed the though of educational games,which means to make a pleasant studying environment for students,by the form of games,to make them immerse in studying, experience the happiness of studying by themselves and reach the purpose of edutainment in the end.So it emerges the "educational games".At present,educational games have become an important part of the area of education,and it's attracted increasing attentions.Many educational games software have been made both at home and abroad,but because they doesn't have developed theory instruction,lack the support and verification of practice,they're not perfect; there're many defects,for example,it combines games and knowledge points very incondite and the design strategies of educational games are not enough systematic.On the basis of studying great amount of documentaries,this paper summaries the current research situation of educational games at home and abroad and it also has systematic cognition and grasp of the brand new area of educational games.Then,it defines the basic concept of educational games,analyzes the characteristics, classifications and educational values of it,and elaborates carefully on the general situation of it.After that,this paper stresses on investigating the design strategy of educational games,for the purpose of providing theoretic directions to put it into practice.It traces back to the theoretical source of designing educational games from multi-angles such as constructivism learning theory,flow theory,game learning theory and multiple intelligence theory,and analyzes thoroughly the factors affecting the design of educational games,such as learners' mental characteristics,cognitive characteristics and different types of inner quality.In the end it puts forward designing strategy of educational education aiming at factors affecting educational games respectively,and analyzes them with specify cases to verify the strategy proposed in this paper.
