With the rapid development of information technology, the online games has become the main way of our current entertainment, but also get the favour of young people. But their experience is limited, and self-control ability is not strong, and a lot of people bogged down in the games.Inaddition,relentless yelling and stop more increased their disgust. Later, educational games triggers the teaching reform. It is not only auxiliary teaching means, but let children obtain knowledge when enjoying the fun of the games. The future of the gaming world has been brought the dawn.How to make education and entertainment perfectly combine has always been a focus in the study of educational technology experts. This paper argues that the transfer theory can offer the balance of the education and entertainment.The first,this article introduces the transfer theory, and the related concepts of educational games; define the concept of educational games;analyzes the teaching significance of the transfer theory.Then,this paper studys the educational games based on the transfer theory from the two aspects of design and case.Design: analyzes the teaching design of educational games based on the transfer theory. Introduces the design theory of this topic, including constructivism learning theory, theory of immersion, transfer theory and system theory, and analyses the enlightenment of the theory. Summarizes the design principles, namely, pays attention to the learner’s cognitive rule of development, focus on the learner’s gaming experience, pays attention to the opening and expansion of knowledge, focus on the morality of games,and these principles ensure the unity of knowledge and entertaining; summarizes the design elements, including structural elements, motivation factors, the factors of migration, hierarchical structure; This paper introduces the design process of educational games.Case: "cherishing life" educational games design and development has carried on the detailed introduction. Analyzes the content of the game "cherishing life" and making platform RPG Maker XP; analyzes the teaching content; design the game storyline and related elements; writes the game script; introduces the key technology in the process of game development; the application of "cherishing life" educational games has been analyzed.
