The new curriculum of senior high school chemistry consists of three levels. With the implement of the new curriculum reform, more people have a better understanding about the compulsory module; while the surveys on the elective course module are relatively less due to its short-time appearance and different content from the old materials. Among the elective course modules, experimental chemistry stands out as the innovative one. Different from the previous concept which mixes the experiments with the teaching content; experimental chemistry makes the chemistry experiment an independent module so as to enhance its importance and supply student with more opportunities to carry out more experiments. However, does this new module can thoroughly reflect the ideas of the new curriculum reform? Is this module actually carried out in the teaching process? What is about the teaching situation? This paper selects the teachers of the"experimental chemistry"as the subjects to survey whether they can fully understand its function and content as well as the distribution of teaching time, the main teaching methods and the confusion in teaching. Teachers generally felt that the content of experimental chemistry is extremely difficult which makes the teaching time is very limited and lack of teaching resources as well as the effectiveness of teaching. The author's solution to these problems is that teachers change their concept both ideology and psychologically and improve teaching through consistent learning and exploration. At the same time, more support should also be given by schools and educational administrations, as a result, the teaching of experimental chemistry will be greatly improved.
