They are educators and custodians of physical and mental health of students, designers of students'lives after class and patrols of school safety. Because students under compulsory education are in a special stage and they always have un-adapted problems, the caretakers are needed in boarding schools.Boarding schools are unities of schools, families and community. In addition to their own schooling function, they also carry out the functions of family and social education. The work of caretakers is complicated and their responsibility is very heavy. But the status quo of their lives is not optimistic. First of all, caretakers'salary is low; secondly boarding schools lack of caretakers and caretakers are not very steady; thirdly the employment of caretakers is rather casual; fourthly caretakers are too old, and fifthly, they have not professional knowledge. And the above problems seriously affect the advantages of boarding school.There are many complex reasons in caretaker'team-building .We can analysis them from the national and the schools perspectives. From the national level, lacking the relevant policies of caretaker in rural area boarding school, which is the very important reason. On the one hand, the preparation of teachers in rural areas is in tension, lacking the preparation of caretaker and their responsibilities are not clear .On the other hand, rural boarding schools have less financial support for caretakers to organize activities. From boarding school itself, caretakers not get enough attention in boarding school. First, school masters and other relevant managers in the majority rural school are not aware of the importance of caretakers. Secondly, schools give low pay and other preferential treatments to caretakers, which is difficult to attract high quality staff . The third, lacking the vocational training of caretakers .The forth, lacking the professional evaluation of caretakers .These problems lead to weak building in caretaker team.To promote all-round development of students' health and sustainable development of school, we need to strengthen the building of caretaker team in rural boarding schools. In particular, we can start to work from the following aspects: First, the state should publish relevant laws and regulations about caretakers who working in rural area boarding school .The state should develop the policies of caretakers who working in rural area boarding school. Through researches, reasonable settings, and optimize the ratio of students and caretaker in rural boarding school .The State should make more efforts to increase the input and strengthen the management. Second, we should pay attention to the vocational training of caretakers and draft the quality standard requirements of caretakers. Strengthen pre-vocational training, pay attention to the post-vocational training. The third, we should establish strict employment standards of caretakers of boarding school in rural areas. Recruitment teams should be set up to stamp out the relationship between job-seekers, and do a good evaluation of the work of caretakers. The forth, the management of caretaker should reflect the human nature. Schools should pay attention to the work of caretakers. The school leaders should take care of the lives of caretakers to improve the treatment of them. |
