The educational reform is deepening in China. In the implementation of course reform, evaluation is a crucial yet difficult point.D.L. Stuffbean remarked "Evaluation aims at improvement rather than verification". In other words, class teaching concept determines class teaching evaluation standard and in turn, class teaching evaluation standard contributes to the development of class teaching concept. How to construct a physics class evaluation index system that suits the new course notion and how to make full use of the functions such as encouragement, guidance, regulation and promotion the evaluation system possesses is an issue of general concern to every educator in this field.This paper, based on the literature research and study on the history and current situations of class teaching evaluation, constructs preliminarily a physics class teaching evaluation index system under the framework of new course system with reference to experts' opinions and by way of theoretical deduction. It integrates the constructionist theory with the characteristics of physics class teaching under the new course system, namely, three-dimensional course teaching objective, exploratory teaching mode and developmental evaluation strategies. The evaluation scale was modified based on the tentative evaluation and experts' opinions, and 5 first grade indexes were finally established, namely, teaching concept, teaching resources, teaching strategies, teaching integration and teaching effect; based on the characteristic factors, 11 secondary indexes were established; based on the teaching and learning behavior characteristics, 36 third-grade indexes were established. After the second tentative evaluation, the modified evaluation scale was put to test so as to find out whether it is scientific or not and a questionnaire survey on the "independence" "validity" "operability" of the indexes was conducted. The result of the statistical analysis shows that the said evaluation scale is scientific to some extent. Finally, the said evaluation scale was applied in the micro-teaching reflection to further illustrate the class characteristics represented by the indexes listed in the evaluation scale.This evaluation index system is based on the notion that "Learning reflects teaching while teaching promotes learning" and is a constructive system. The main evaluator is the teacher or the administrative department, colleague or the parents of the student. The grading method only applies to the secondary indexes so as to avoid the bondage that might result from the over-detailed and over-comprehensive indexes.This evaluation index system can help the instructor optimize the teaching plan before the class teaching and provide the instructor with quantitative data for teaching reflection. Hopefully, it can play a positive role in improving teaching method, regulating teaching behavior, bettering the class teaching quality and promoting the professional development of teachers. Finally, it can contribute to the mutual development of teachers and students.
