A Research On The Effects Of Academic Activities On Postgraduate Research Abilities

The number of the enrollment on the Master is increasing rapidly in recent years, and the students group is becoming more various in the age, the enrollment, the work experience and the motivation. Therefore the teaching-in-classroom couldn't meet the requirement of the postgraduate education, which calls for more fresh methods to guarantee the quality of the postgraduate education. The extracurricular academic activity, as an important part of the research, is an indispensability section during the postgraduate education. It aims at improving the research ability of the postgraduate.According to the research of the extracurricular academic activity, the thesis tries to divide it into three kinds: the self-governed academic activity, the academic activity in series and the academic activity based on items. And then the author chose three academic activities from East China Normal University as a case study, including "Education Salon", "Summer Lectures School" and " DaXia Workshop".Based on the former interview, the author chose seventeen interviewers for an in-depth research to find the effect of the different academic activities for the students' research abilities, considering the different culture and major backgrounds, learning motivations and so on. Finally the thesis gives its sum-up as following.â… . Different academic activities emphasis on the different cultivations of the research abilities.â…¡. All kinds of academic activities need perfect themselves.â…¢. Summing up the effect of the academic activities and the weakness, the author found the basic factors for the effective academic activities, including tutor's guide, academic environment, institutional construction and so on.The article contains three parts:The first part is chapter 1, mainly including the cause and meaning of the topic, the summary of the literature and the research design.The second part is from chapter 2 to chapter 4 as the main body of the thesis, exploring the influence of different kinds of academic activities on the participators' research ability based on the in-depth interviews.The third part is chapter 5,the conclusion of the thesis, summarizing the basic conditions which can ensure the academic activities to be effective for the research abilities of the postgraduate.
