The Research About The Lack And Construction Of Modern Community's Social Capital

Under the background of the structural transformation from the unit system to the community system in our country, the development of the community construction has became the strategic measure for the urban management. Three phases has been passed since the 1980's, including the starting phase, the full improving phase and the deep discovery phase now. The plight of the community construction caused by the lack of community social capital showed up gradually in the process, and the importance of community social capital has drew much common attention.The study is accomplished by questionnaire survey based on literature review. The social capital quantities of traditional and modern communities are compared and analyzed by seven sides, those are nonlocal social network, community belongingness, community cohesion, local social network, voluntary, social reciprocity and social trust. The cause of the loss of the new community's social capital is studied by considering the characteristics of both traditional and modern community. The result shows that there are three main reasons causing the loss situation of social capital , those are the community residents' lack of master sense, the administration of social management system and the looseness of social residents' social relationship network.At last, three suggestions about the modern social community capital are proposed based on the survey and analysis of Changzhou City. First, foster a sense of master among the community residents. Second, relocation the community committees' function. Third, construct fine interactive networks of community residents.
