Protection Of Children's Rights From View Of Social Work

Children are the future of human development, also its present. In 1989, General Assembly of the United Nations passed Convention on the Rights of the Child, which classified Children's rights into four types: the right to survival, development, protection and participation. As the contracting party and the developing country with the largest number of children, China's protection of children's rights has always been the focus of all. The status of Children is confused and embarrassing affected by the traditional ideas on Children in China. It can be founded mainly in following aspects: deprivation of dominant position, deficiency of value and sense of rights, vacancy of laws of protection of Children's rights. So the status quo of protection of Children's rights has cried out for professional service. As a supportive major, Social Work has always regarded Children as the important service object. Taking sample school of Deyang in Sichuan province as an example, the author has collected data of case study and then studied and analyzed the data. In perspective of theory of social constructivism, the thesis has analyzed awareness concept of Children's rights with the idea of large-scale systems--the status quo of protection of Children's rights-the circulatory system of social work intervention, and studied the relations of Children and family, Children and school, children and community and Children and society in case study from the views of concept of knowledge, language and power in constructivism theory and revealed the dilemma of the status quo of protection of Children's rights. The thesis will combine theories of protection of Children's rights and social work with practice and local intervention, and further search for perfection of laws and policies of protection of Children's rights and for channels and strategies of social work intervention of protection of Children's rights. In order to form people-oriented, respect and protect Children's rights, promote service level of social work of Children development.
