Why can they get good grades in a short period of time? How can we let this young sport item to achieve greater breakthroughs? So it is necessary to do the research on their development and current status. In this paper, literature method, expert interview method and statistics and mathematical research method are used to analyze the development and the status quo of Walking in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region as well as offer recommendations accordingly for the future development of walking. The development of walking in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is divided into three phases, the first phase, start-up phase (1986-1993); the second phase, development phase (1994-1999); the third phase, go out of Asia to the world stage (2000-2008).during the 20 years, Walking in Inner Mongolia from weak to strong, achieved a historic breakthrough. in 2007 Chu Yafei won World University Games 20km walk gold medal, Wang Hao won the fourth the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games 20 km race. Training cycle are reasonable, in line with the characteristics of long-distance endurance. The choice of training content and training methods and means are used properly, the training load and intensity of the appropriate arrangements. Second and third line coaches age structurally, higher level qualifications, the majority of middle and senior titles coaches, sports experience and rich training experience, but in research capability, selection methods, recovery methods and the training cycle means there are inadequate arrangements. The attitude of athletes is sometimes good, and sometimes bad, they do not have enough chance to participate in the competition. According to the status quo, the writer made the following recommendations: 1. To establish the guiding ideology of sustainable development and continue to speed up the walking development. 2. Improve the quality of instructor training and coaching ability. 3. Continue to increase the input in walking, especially on the second and third line to increase the human, financial and material inputs. 4. To increase the popularity of walking, it is necessary to establish relevant policy guidance and to attract more young people to participate in the walking training. 5. The sports sector should increase the number of games, so players have more training, learning from each other and exchanging opportunities. 6.
