Focus on the post-employment education of biology teachers of normal universities in Sichuan province, this paper compare and analyze the current theoretical and practical situations both at home and abroad. The study mainly adopted questionnaire survey method, interview method, and literature review method. In this study, 197 normal university biology teachers and 101 normal university teachers from 6 different municipalities were investigated through questionnaires, 10 of them were also individually interviewed.It was found that the current practice of post-employment education for biology teachers of normal universities in Sichuan cannot fulfill the teachers' requirements. Specifically, some of the teachers lack systematic training plan; the training objectives and contents of some institutions cannot take account of different needs among teachers; the current training models, tutor guidance and concentrated short-term training, are comparatively simple; the evaluation mode is unitary and rigid.Based on the investigation and research, the training objectives, models, curriculums and contents, evaluation systems were optimized and then a new post-employment education system was proposed.
