A Study Of Gender Theory From Multi Perspectives

Gender theory is one of the outcomes which the western feminist theory deepens, also is the extremely important concept and the theory weapon in the feminine liberation movement. It aims at the traditional viewpoints of the western knowledge, which insist on a naturalistic attitude in amphoteric relationship and duality opposite modes of thinking. The theory distinguishes human's gender from the natural/physiological sex. It believes that the radical reasons for the inequalities between the male and female are not the biological difference, but the differences in gender. The"sex"means the physiological differences caused by amphoteric characteristic such as gene, anatomise, hormonal secretion. The"gender"means that the society's different anticipation and prescription to the amphoteric temperament and behavior is extending from the differences in amphoteric biological sex. Since the social culture makes different anticipation and definition to men and women on the basis of the amphoteric physiological differences, the meanings of"men"and"women"go far beyond the meaning of men and women as the sex itself. The amphoteric relationship turns to a hierarchical relationship - patriarchal, men from women. Women reduced to the "other " in all aspects : In social and cultural system, the evaluation of the value of women is always negative, negative and passive associate, and always worse than men's; in reality, women are in fact being oppressed, and the inequality between men and women is still widespread.Hereby, the gender theory concludes that if female try to change their status of"the other", the crucial way is to the awakening of the female self-awareness and self-empowering. Only in this way, female can acquire the rights to speak and break the male-centered culture,so to re-write the history of gender and gender relations.Gender theory's advancing has great significance. It not only makes for the development of the feminist theory and practice, but also has strong academic value and application. This paper seeks to emphatically make a link between the gender theory and the Marxism and its theory about women, on the basis of roundly analysis to gender theory, and to examine and reflect on it with Marxism. Thereby, we could rectify its warps and absorb its distillate so as to enrich and develop the Marxism and its theory of women.
