| With the emergence of computer and network technologies, people begin their study andtraining through these new media. Application of Moodle platform (course managementsystem) to carry out teacher training, distance learning and research is at the same timecoming into vision. Literature review found relatively few studies at home and abroadconcerning the field, especially on the use of Moodle platform for the development and designof teacher training in information technology, which is still in the introductory stage.Therefore, the research on Moodle platform to carry out teacher training of informationtechnology has become an important research topic.The current paper, by sorting out studies related to teacher's IT training at home andabroad, put forward the research project of "network-based information technology trainingfor teachers". Through defining of network environment and competence of informationtechnology, together with the theoretical support from constructivism, adult learning theory,collaborative learning CSCL, blended learning and other theories, the study raised a boldtraining model of a "centralized training + Moodle platform collaborative learning", to guidethe teacher training activities. The study also proposed some well-established trainingstrategies, with training activities practice, verifying and assessing the effective and efficiencyof the model.In order to verify the implementation and the effective of the training model andstrategies, the study selected teachers from 3 schools in Chengguan District, Lanzhou Cityand 5 schools in Linze County Zhangye City , Gansu Province as the research object of thestudy, carried out intense IT training for three times. After that, the project conducted furtheron-line training, guiding and problem solving, with the help of the Platform for Teacher'sProfessional Capability (http://www.tpt.gsedu.cn) developed by the Institute of EducationTechnology of Northwest Normal University, which covers the master station, networkcourse platform, teacher's blog platform and BBS. The study also analyzed teacher's on-linelearning data to testify the training result by questionnaire and interview.After the implementation of practical activities above, the results showed that thetraining model is innovative in theory, operational and effective in practice. In particular, ithas been paid a high degree of recognition by teachers of information technology that it cansignificantly improve teacher's capability of IT application, which has met the expectedtraining effect. |
