Residents to actively participate in community activities can effectively improve their subjective well-being and sense of belonging, but a large number of studies show that: at present, residents are weak in the sense of participation and the involvement of the content is limited. The participation is more passive and of low frequency. This affects the status of the residents'quality of life. Community consciousness, as a main contributing factor to community participation, its internal structure is of long-term dispute. Findings of the relationship between community consciousness and community involvement in the past researchs are not consistent. In this paper, through the literature review and practical surveys, it drew up a questionnaire of urban residents'sense of community and a questionnaire of urban residents'community participation with a high reliability and validity.And then the two questionnaires were conducted to 610 residents.The purpose of this paper is to sort out the internal structure of community consciousness through the empirical research data and interviews form, and to further explore the correlation between community involvements. To promote community development, improve community participation in the awareness of residents as well as subjective well-being of residents and effectively provide the basis for recommendations.The study found that (1) sense of community includes four dimensions, namely, community satisfaction, community identity, community belonging, and community relations. Study shows that a higher awareness of urban communities, showing a higher community satisfaction, community identity, community belonging and a sense of good community relations. At the four-dimensional sense of community on the performance of the highest level is community satisfaction, followed by the Community Relations perception, community dependence, and community identity. Community awareness rises with the level of growth age; low-income residents is of higher sense of community than the high-income residents; married is of a higher sense of community than unmarried residents; residents who don't have jobs have higher sense of community than those who have.(2)The study showed that urban residents have the low level of community involvement, participation in social activities, the performance of a very passive and is involved in fewer, not lasting. The level of community participation rises with age growth; that high-income residents are of the low level of community involvement than low-income residents; married residents have higher level of community involvement than unmarried residents.(3)There was a significant positive correlation between urban community awareness and community involvement; there was a significant positive correlation among urban community satisfaction, community identity, community dependence, community relations and community involvement. Among the four dimensions, community relations has the strongest predicative power to community involvement.This study further found that the present community residents are more concerned about the problem of community greening, public health, pollution and other environmental issues, law and order problem and community-based employment problems. Residents wish to adopt the following measures to improve the level of community participation, implementation of community harmony, and strengthening community cohesion and improve subjective well-being. At first, community activities, as far as possible meet the needs of residents; Secondly, step up publicity efforts to enhance community awareness; Thirdly, the Government should reduce the interference to allow residents to self-government; at last, neighborhood organizations took the initiative to contact the residents.
