Study On Community Participation Of Urban Retirees By Group Work

This paper is about the social work practice intervention of urban retirement community participation.Urban community management system in China by the "unit system" into "community system",in the process of community construction and development,widespread community residents to participate in the problem of insufficient,community retired old people as the main body of community participation,they're more concentrated in community participation in recreational activities,etc.,has no say in community affairs,making important decisions,have not form a complete sense of "ownership".Therefore,the correct analysis of the community participation of retirees,actively guide retirees out of the family,into the community,with their own advantages to the community to provide ideas and suggestions,participate in community activities,to enrich the life of retirees in their later years is of great significance.This intervention will adopt the method of group work practice,based on the advantage of perspective,the social support theory and activity theory,using the skills such as communication,listening and encouragement to those in the community participation enthusiasm is not high retired elderly people to carry on the positive group work intervention,through the development of the activity,the group communication and exchanges,establish trust within the group,clear their own advantage,using their social support network,promote the retired old people actively participate in community activities,into the community environment,the dominant community backbone.In this practical intervention process,the author mainly through interviews and observation,the community workers and 7 retired elderly people in the community community participation of understanding and summarized,the elderly community participation status mainly includes low frequency of community participation,participation content tends to be entertainment,participation willingness is weak,etc.The main factors affecting the retirees' community participation include individuals(lack of awareness of participation,interests,physical factors,personal ability),families(housework,family opposition,taking care of others)and communities(prominent administration,simple publicity,lack of professional social workers).Through the analysis of community participation and influencing factors,the author designed a total of six group activities,in the hope that through the six group activities,community retirees can identify the community activities,actively participate in community activities,give play to their own advantages,to solve community problems.During the activity,the content of the activity was adjusted according to the needs and actual conditions of the group members,and the performance of the group members,the achievement of the goals in the group stage,the achievement of the overall activity goals and the satisfaction of the group were evaluated.Through the assessment,it was found that the group members participated in more community activities,not only in recreational activities,but also had some suggestions and opinions on the occupation of community public resources,which improved the community participation ability of the retired people.Finally,the work of the group was evaluated,summarized and reflected on,and some thoughts on the participation of the community of retired people in the work were obtained,and the professional dilemma,working method,practical dilemma and their own quality were discussed.
