An Investigation On The Construction Of The Community Music Culture In Midong District Of Urumqi

It is our common goal to build a harmonious society nowadays. As we all know, development of communities, the basic elements of society, plays a decisive role in propelling social advance, and the community culture, in turn, contributes to the building of a good community.Music as the carrier of the culture is important to the spreading and inheriting it. The community music culture functions as a bridge to enrich the life of residents, to popularize the music for the masses, to promote the stability of the society, and to propel the building of harmonious society.In this thesis, the author, from the music sociology angle, took the community music culture in Midong district of Urumqi as research object, conducted field work and collected a great amount of cases in the community, and based on which, the author analyzed the data comprehensively, and then summarized the present situation of the music culture construction of community in Midong, its main participants and existing problems, ect. Based on the collected data and its analysis, the author put forward the suggestions and advices on the community culture construction of Midong district in Urumqi: the construction of community music culture should be humanist; artistic and inspiring effect should be emphasized; the community culture and the economical development should promote each other; community music culture should service the building of harmonious society.The thesis can be divided into five parts:In the first part, the purpose and significance of the present research were illustrated, and the previous research findings on the building of the community music culture at home were reviewed.In the second part, the definitions of community and community culture were given before the functions and the current situation of the community music were introduced.In the third part, the survey of the current situation of community music culture in Midong district of Urumqi city was presented. In depth discussion was provided on the programs held and facilities established on the community music culture in Midong district.In the forth part, the author analyzed the existing problems on the building of the community music culture of Midong district.In the last part, suggestions on the building of the community music culture of Midong district was put forward by the author on the basis of the investigation.
